Hier tanze ich !
Dance Theater Katja Erdmann-Rajski
Here I dance! Pippi or the funny girl with the big shoes
Dance theater for children, their families, and all other dance-loving adults
Can you even dance with such shoes? Pippi can. In the novel, she is always dancing: Scottish with two burglars, acrobatically on a plank, around Christmas trees and campfires. So why not turn Pippi's stories into a dance piece, thought the Stuttgart choreographer Katja Erdmann-Rajski. Together with children aged 7 to 12 years, who have contributed great ideas in participatory workshops and open rehearsals.
And the result of this collaboration between children, professional dancers, and dance enthusiasts of all ages also impresses the press. The Stuttgarter Zeitung writes: "as funny as it is poetic... a tribute to imagination and new perspectives". And the Theaterkompass says: "it succeeds in a performance full of harmonious polyphony and thematic sophistication. The program was very well received, especially by the young audience. Cheers and thundering applause."
And perhaps the children also applaud themselves a bit? Because they are allowed to dance along to the performances! No dance experience is needed. Because as Pippi says: "Can't we dance a bit? I just taught myself, you must know."
