When everyone else is gone, the murderer, the detectives, the forensics team, when only the corpse is left, it's his time! Enter Heiko "Schotty" Schotte! This is when he removes what no one needs anymore and what no one wants to see. The remnants of the crimes. No matter how gruesome the scenes may be, "Schotty" is not deterred. It's a science. Armed with brushes, scrubbers, soap, sponges, and chemical substances, he enters the crime scenes and cleans up. But most importantly, he needs empathy and presence of mind. Because "Schotty" is never alone. He encounters complete strangers. Loved ones or acquaintances of the victims, passersby, or the spirits of the murdered. They are all in emotional distress. They want to talk, to clarify things fundamentally. "Schotty" becomes an everyday philosophical sounding board, having to explain, comfort, and set things right again. It all started with an experiment. In November 2011, ndr in Hamburg filmed four episodes of a new short series. However, "Der Tatortreiniger" became a cult hit. Crowned with the Grimme-Preis in 2012, the demand from the increasingly enthusiastic audience rapidly grew. By 2016, the sixth season of the dark comedy series had already been filmed. The ratings, especially among the young audience, soared.
Behind the pseudonym Mizzi Meyer is one of Germany's cleverest playwrights: Ingrid Lausund. After studying acting at the Theaterakademie in Ulm, she became a resident playwright and director at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus. Her plays captivate with a sophisticated balance between humorous dialogues and sophisticated discussions of socially highly relevant themes. Some of her most famous pieces include "Der Weg zum Glück," "Benefiz – Jeder rettet einen Afrikaner," and "Zeit, die erschöpfte Schnecke wirft ihr Haus weg und flippt richtig aus."
Episode "Just Regular Jobs"
Schotty cleans the blood-stained bathroom of an apartment when the doorbell rings. It's not the murderer returning to the crime scene, but a prostitute trying to visit her client. Upon learning that he has been murdered, she wants to flee the apartment. Schotty manages to persuade her to stay. It almost seems like they might even have sex, as they both consider themselves hardened due to their jobs. In the end, they bare their souls, not their bodies…
Episode "Above the Clouds"
A woman has been killed with an axe by her husband. Much work for the crime scene cleaner Schotty, who is currently struggling with his nicotine withdrawal. But that's not the end of the difficulties: the murderer returns. He meets a very grumpy Schotty…
Episode "Not Over My Sofa"
Schotty is called to the villa of a wealthy widow. An intruder has died here, falling down a staircase while trying to escape. At least that's what the old lady claims. However, as Schotty goes about his work, he finds evidence that the woman cold-bloodedly killed the intruder with a golf club. When Schotty threatens to call the police, the old woman tries to buy his silence with a Maserati. Schotty's dream car…
