After 40 years of existence, the cabaret ensemble is now celebrating its 40th program
The Spitzklicker have been around for 40 years. Hardly have they completed the most successful playing season of all time - with almost sold-out houses everywhere - when the cabaret cult troupe from the Kurpfalz is already preparing for their 40th program. However, the group has a change to announce - one could almost say a personnel turning point - for 2025: Susanne Mauder has left the cabaret stage after 27 years and was farewelled with great emotion on the last evening in the Alte Druckerei. Two specially composed and written songs and plenty of praising words sweetened her goodbye. Susanne Mauder left "with a heavy heart, but it's the right time to stop now," said the passionate actress, who had worked at the Oststadttheater and in the ensemble of the Freilichtbühne Mannheim before becoming a cabaret artist.
In her place, professional actress Iris Katzer is now joining the Spitzklicker ensemble. She comes from the Aschaffenburg area and performs at various theaters. Together with the directing and choreography duo of the Spitzklicker, Patricia Kain and Felicitas Hadzik, Iris Katzer has appeared in "Heiße Zeiten" on the musical stage. "That's how the contact came about, and we didn't have to hold an elaborate casting. Because one thing was clear: we will continue to complement and enhance ourselves only with professionals," says Spitzklicker managing director Franz Kain. After all, the team has to rehearse a two-hour program over roughly 25 rehearsal evenings. Everyone must show up well-prepared with learned text to tackle this often six-week effort.
Four hours of intense work is required in each rehearsal, in order to present the new program with its premiere on January 3, 2025. After the 40th anniversary last year, the Spitzklicker can once again write the number 40 in the calendar for the next anniversary - this time indeed the 40th program. Title: Spitz verklickert XL.
The male trio consisting of the longest-serving Spitzklickers Franz Kain (33 years) and Markus König (32 years), along with Daniel Möllemann, continues the successful concept with the new woman by their side: a mix of moderative and classic scene cabaret combined with choreographed songs. This has been the hallmark of the Spitzklicker for decades. As always, topics will be presented in a sharp and humorous manner, tinged with dialect, to provoke laughter and thought.
