Cuarteto SolTango
Thomas Reif, violin / Andreas Rokseth, bandoneon / Karel Bredenhorst, cello / Martin Klett, piano
In the unique formation of violin, cello, bandoneon, and piano, Cuarteto SolTango bridges the gap between chamber music and Argentine tango. Since its founding in 2008, the ensemble has performed at numerous festivals: Studio concerts for Bavarian Radio, Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, and Heidelberger Frühling.
So far, three CD releases have received phenomenal reviews in classical music magazines and in the international tango scene. SolTango has participated in shows at the Tango Festival Düsseldorf and the Belgian Festival van Vlaanderen. The four musicians also regularly perform with world-famous show dance couples; such as Alejandra and Mariano from Madrid, or Gaston and Moira from Buenos Aires.
"The spark jumped over as soon as the four began. Because everything was right with this quartet. Four excellent soloists merged into a unity that harmonized perfectly." (Mittelbadische Presse)
"With great virtuosity, the four musicians filled the room as if a whole orchestra was present. They did so with a lot of expressiveness, joy of playing, and physical commitment." (Rheinpfalz)
