Did you know that the Berlin population spent Christmas Eve going completely wild in the Middle Ages?
And that the Prussian kings had a hard time bringing order and discipline to the wild Christmas festivities from the end of the 17th century?
Or that during the Kaiser era, a serving of "Testament" was included in the Christmas goose? That is, a popular stuffing with apples, raisins, and white bread!
In our new Christmas program, we travel through many centuries, share curious, touching, and astonishing stories, and let famous Berliners have their say.
This raises the question: Was everything really better in the past, and how can a glimpse into the past put us in the Christmas spirit?
Selected musical pieces and popular Christmas songs complete the program and get you in the mood for the most beautiful festival of the year. True to our tradition, our artist team will treat you to homemade punch during the break; there will also be delicious Christmas pastries.
