"SPITZENREITER" – this is the brand new stage program by Matze Knop. Together with his new horse buddy, he bravely rides through the madness of our daily lives and will be at the Bürgertreff in Schöneck-Kilianstädten on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 8:00 PM. Matze faces all the pitfalls and challenges of these crazy times in his well-known humorous and ironic style.
From artificial intelligence to self-service checkouts to the plight of a beleaguered SUV driver, who Matze himself is, to Dinkel-Dörte on her cargo bike and politicians who get entangled in their own statements like wired headphones in a backpack.
And what would Matze be without football? Whether Champions League or amateur league, whether VAR drama or dream goal – Matze delivers every punchline as reliably as Messi scores a penalty in the final. With a sharp eye and a lot of humor, he pokes fun at the big and small absurdities of the most beautiful sport in the world while keeping an eye on the 2026 World Cup.
Of course, the unmistakable parodies of Matze like Kloppo, Jogi, Ronaldo, Lodda, and Diedää are not to be missed. He has them all in his show. But for Matze, it also takes a trip back in time: He takes his audience back to the 80s, 90s, and 2000s – a time when we stumbled through the swimming pool with a Leckmuschel, an Ed from Schleck, and a Walkman - without Wi-Fi - but with a hungry Tamagotchi. Who doesn’t remember the feeling of refreshing the teletext page or being greeted with a cheerful "uh-ohhh!" on ICQ? While we used to dance wildly and joyfully to Wham! and the Backstreet Boys, today we listen to melancholic singer-songwriters who sound as if they lost their will to live upon waking up. While Supa Richie could still use cheeky pick-up lines to win over his "gem," today we only ask ourselves while dating whether to swipe right or left. All these topics Matze brings back – of course with a wink, lots of humor, and just the right dose of self-irony.
One thing is certain in Matze's show: no evening is like the other. Spontaneous, quick-witted, and always close to the audience, he seizes every situation that comes his way. Improvisation, interaction, and plenty of surprises are firmly part of his concept. His audience is always right in the thick of it, rather than just being there.
