Exhibition: ÖOÓ – Krzysztof Franaszek, Gereon Krebber
Opening: Thursday, 22 August 2024, 7pm
Galerie des Polnischen Instituts Düsseldorf, Citadellstr. 7, 40213 Düsseldorf
Exhibition duration: 23 August to 31 December 2024
The exhibition by Krzysztof Franaszek (PL) and Gereon Krebber (DE) is dedicated to the themes of mutations of forms and the process of determining meaning. Through melting, bending, squeezing, and dripping, Franaszek and Krebber transform original motifs as well as objects, blurring the boundaries between the artificial (often urban) world and nature. The artists not only dissolve clear sculptural forms, but also play with the readability and conventional meanings of things. All these ambiguities converge at the Galerie des Polnischen Instituts in Düsseldorf, forming a constellation of shifting formal separations, ambivalent meanings, and fluid geopolitical boundaries.
