Dear audience, the cabaret artist Thomas Reis has passed away.

Our friend, great colleague, and companion Thomas Reis passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, after a serious illness. Described as a "bizarre mixture of Kafka, Heine, and Gene Kelly" by DIE ZEIT, he received numerous cabaret awards for his uproariously funny, sharp social analyses, his admirable lightness with a sense of boundless black humor, and his brilliant eloquence, reaching a million-strong audience on stages throughout the German-speaking world and in the media.
On June 5, Thomas Reis bid farewell to his audience with a farewell performance at the Kölner Senftöpchen, where, in typical Thomas fashion, he addressed his critical health condition:
"Dying is not a beautiful death, but it doesn't happen that often, once, you can live with that. It's also not forever because how comforting it is often said in death notices: 'He hasn't died, just gone ahead...' So, he can already order a beer."
Our dear friend, loving father, revered and celebrated colleague Thomas Reis has gone ahead yesterday.
We are very sad to have lost him, relieved to know he is at rest, and grateful for the time we shared with him.

In a drive-by shooting in the troubled neighborhood of Hermodsdal, a teenager is shot dead. The police leadership and the press quickly agree: another tragic low point in the nationwide escalating drug gang wars. The thankless case is delegated to the recently widowed Commissioner Jon Nordh and the reassigned northern Swedish investigator Svea Karhuu. The two quickly find themselves caught between the fronts of the brutally conducted turf wars over quick money, power, honor – and revenge. When the best friend of the deceased boy goes underground, it looks like a betrayal. However, after another murder, events escalate, and the mismatched investigator duo must quickly come together as a real team. Nordh and Karhuu fight not only against a relentless enemy but also with the burden of their respective pasts.

Roman Voosen, born in 1973 in Rheinhausen, grew up in Papenburg in the Emsland region. He studied art history and German studies in Bremen. He worked as a paramedic, spare parts sorter, elderly caregiver, bartender, music journalist, and teacher. He lives and works as an author in Berg/Sweden.

Kerstin Signe Danielsson, born in 1983 in Växjö, spent her childhood in the deep Småland forest. At 19, she moved to Hamburg and studied history and German studies. After moving countless times between Hamburg, Gothenburg, and Växjö, she now lives in Berg/Sweden. She works as an author and teacher.

Roman Voosen and Kerstin Signe Danielsson have been married since 2013.
