The members of the String Quartet Jumin, who have emerged from the music conservatories of Paris, Brussels, Geneva, and Stuttgart, have been performing regularly since 2019 in varying formations from duet to chamber orchestra.
The program of this concert combines the fresh galant style of Mozart's famous Divertimento KV 136 with one of the highlights of the French repertoire, the quartet by César Franck.
Between these two works in D major, the piece Comodo et amabile will be heard, which complements this program of German-French music with English sounds from the composer Rebecca Clarke.

The Goat (in German: die Ziege) is an American slapstick comedy from 1921 featuring actor Buster Keaton in the lead role, who also directed this silent film. Mix-ups, quirky situations, and chases characterize this film, and of course, love is not overlooked.
In the early days of cinema, it was not yet satisfactorily possible to record and play back sound and image in sync. The films were accompanied by piano or orchestra.
The Youth Symphony Orchestra (a joint orchestra of the Christophorus-Gymnasium and the Altensteig Music School) and the Altensteig Chamber Orchestra revive this tradition and accompany or underscore this short film with newly commissioned, jazz-infused music by contemporary American composer Scott Watson.
In the first part of this exciting concert experiment, classics of film music and classical pieces that became film music will resonate.

When looking around at the greats of the Viennese Classical period, one finds various solo concerts, but hardly any for the cello. Haydn makes the famous exception. In the epochs before – in the Baroque and the so-called pre-Classical period – the search results are considerably richer. Greats like Vivaldi or Boccherini – even a highly acclaimed cello virtuoso – have devoted themselves to concertante cello literature. So too did the second oldest Bach son, Carl Philipp Emanuel: His A major concerto, probably composed in 1753 on royal commission, impresses with its elegant-virtuosic outer movements, into which a sadly sighing Largo is embedded. It demands a considerable degree of dexterity and delicate tonal quality from the soloist – in our case, the WKO solo cellist Jonas Palm. The cello concerto is flanked by Mozart's "Serenata notturna" and Tchaikovsky's "Serenade for Strings," a jewel of romantic orchestral literature. Tchaikovsky himself described the serenade as one of his favorite pieces.

Daniel Bachmann studied economics and business administration at the universities of Munich and Pforzheim (Master's degree) as well as film and screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Master's degree). Since 1998, he has been writing novels, biographies, memoirs, travel reports, screenplays, and radio plays, and works as a director for documentaries. From 2004 to 2009, he was a columnist for the Staatsanzeiger Baden-Württemberg. Since 2017, he has been leading the concert series "Moderne Obertonmusik" in Stuttgart. Since 2023, he has been the chairman of the Rote Brücke - Verein für Kunst- und Kulturaustausch e.V.

Peter Wüstner is a lecturer at the BDB Music Academy Staufen and teaches alphorn for beginners and advanced students. The native Austrian from Bregenz on Lake Constance initially underwent classical piano training before pursuing instrumental training in trombone with Hans Mayr (Radio Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden) and Achim Selzer (State Theatre Karlsruhe) as well as further musical studies with Prof. Armin Rosin (Stuttgart University of Music).

For 35 years, young, talented musicians from numerous countries around the world have come to the "Sommermusik im Oberen Nagoldtal" every August to be taught and supported by renowned artists from the global stage.
As part of these master, children’s, and chamber music courses for violin, viola, cello, double bass, and piano, an outstanding concert series takes place, inviting visitors to linger in the Black Forest.

In the concluding concert on August 14, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the Evangelical Town Church of Nagold, selected young musicians from the courses and the orchestra of the Sommmusik im Oberen Nagoldtal will perform. The program will be created shortly.

Bärbel Schäfer was born in Bremen. She is known as a presenter from TV and radio, awarded with the Golden Camera, journalist, and author of several successful non-fiction books on social issues. Every Sunday, she is in conversation on hr3 with a prominent talk guest and conducts interviews for the emotion series "Man, what do you feel?" Bärbel Schäfer is married to publicist and television presenter Michel Friedman and has two children.

From the rural longing of a city woman:
Finally getting out of the office again, being in nature, working with her hands: this is a longing that many share. Including presenter Bärbel Schäfer. But dreaming alone doesn't help, so she decides to undertake a personal experiment. For a year, she accompanies a shepherd in his work to find out for herself what herders have learned in their millennia-long coexistence with humans, animals, and nature.

Bärbel Schäfer swaps her white sneakers for muddy rubber boots and helps out on the farm and pasture in all weather. The Oros Ensemble was founded in 2020 with the support of the Greek National Opera. The Oros Ensemble settled for many months in a village that has been revived after years of abandonment: Vamvakou on Mount Parnon, near Sparta. The musicians lived there for months in the same house, connecting with each other and with the village community, and developed their first programs during daily rehearsals and gave their first concerts. In the meantime, they have performed in the largest halls of Greece, as well as in very remote places in the country. They have collaborated with the ballet of the National Opera, recorded with the famous baritone Dimitris Tiliakos, and a program dedicated to them was broadcast on public television, among others. They have performed works from the entire spectrum of so-called classical music, from Baroque to numerous premieres of works specifically written for them.

Hugo Wolf's "Italian Songbook" depicts all conceivable facets of a romantic relationship in pointed little mood pictures. Here, not a word, not a tone is used excessively; everything remains clear and simple, but by no means meaningless. On the contrary, the fusion of the Italian love songs, gently translated into German by the later Nobel Laureate in Literature Paul Heyse, with the music of the "master of the small form" manages to open entire worlds in minute-long pieces. The impossibility of direct communication runs through the work as a core theme. The 46 songs are typically divided between a female and a male voice and presented alternately. Mateo Peñaloza Cecconi and Sophie Harr have joined forces for this evening with pianist Michael Braunger and will perform a selection of the songs.

Social media has become an indispensable part of our everyday life. However, with Instagram, TikTok & Co., the danger of cyberbullying also grows. Whether it's inappropriate comments, spreading rumors and fake images, or hate messages via direct message - social media provides perpetrators the space and anonymity to let loose. For those affected, this can have serious consequences: feelings of fear and helplessness burden not only students but also parents and teachers. In his new book, Norman Wolf dedicates himself to exactly this topic: the young content creator faces hate on the net daily. Based on his own experiences and his expertise in psychosocial counseling, he provides answers to pressing questions such as "What drives perpetrators to bullying?" "What can those affected do?" or "What are the strengths of social media?"

Norman Wolf (born 1993) initially studied psychology in Marburg before he began posting about mental health issues as @deinTherapeut and was awarded the Golden Blogger in 2018 for it. Three years ago, Norman Wolf was a guest in Freudenstadt, where he spoke from personal experience on the topic of bullying to dozens of kids, teenagers, and their parents. In his new book (with central themes also focusing on bullying and cyberbullying), he shares stories from his life and supports those affected in breaking free from this vicious cycle and regaining self-confidence.
